In the real world, a real war of giant robots begins, reminiscent of the plots of the latest Hollywood blockbusters. On June 30, Boston-based MegaBots challenged Japan's Suidobashi Heavy Industries, the creator of the Kuratas robot, to organize a duel between it and MegaBot Mark 2, CNET reported.

“Suidobashi, we have a giant robot, you have a giant robot, you know what's going to happen. We challenge you to a duel,”MegaBots co-founder Matt Erlein said in a video message.

The Mark 2 Giant Fighting Robot weighs 6 tons and is piloted by a team of two. It is capable of firing paintball-like three-pound cannonballs at speeds up to 161 km / h.

Kuratas is lighter - it weighs only 4.5 tons, but in the arsenal it has a pair of Gatling guns and is equipped with an advanced spatial orientation system with a HUD display.

While there is no information about whether the Japanese side has accepted the challenge, however, Erlein has already warned that the companies will need time to determine the conditions of the battle, while he offered to choose the place for the enemy.
