It is reported that the development of a new generation radio station has been completed in the Russian Federation. This can significantly increase the potential of the Armed Forces.

The completion of the development was announced at the United Instrument-Making Corporation. This is a wearable digital radio called MO1. Its weight is 3.8 kg. It is reported that soldiers using the walkie-talkie will generally forget what a "dead zone" is (in other words, the zone of minimum reception located above the antenna).
Secure data transmission is guaranteed at ranges of up to 600 km. The peculiarities of the terrain and even the means of electronic warfare of the enemy should not interfere with the work of MO1. The device can send text, voice and multimedia messages.
In addition to the Russian army, the novelty may come at the disposal of the Ministry of Emergencies. The customer will receive the first serial samples in 2017. In general, the new means of communication are extremely important for the Russian army. During the period of the Chechen campaigns and the short-term war with Georgia, the lack of modern radio stations turned out to be a serious difficulty for the Russian Armed Forces.
