Su-30SM fighters, which belong to the 4+ generation, should significantly strengthen the potential of the Armenian Air Force. Recently, we will remind, the Republic of Belarus received the same aircraft.

Photos of Su-30SM fighters intended for Armenia have been posted on the Web. The pictures were taken during an intermediate landing at the Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport. The identification marks of the Armenian Air Force are clearly visible on the cars.

Earlier, Minister of Defense of the country David Tonoyan said that four Su-30SM fighters purchased from Russia will be delivered in January-February 2020. According to some reports, Armenia is also considering the possibility of purchasing several more such machines.

As a reminder, in August, photos of the first Su-30SM fighters intended for the Belarusian Air Force were posted on the Web. It is known that over the next few years, the country should receive 12 of these machines.

Su-30SM fighters can significantly increase the potential of the Armenian and Belarusian Air Force. Recall that we are talking about a generation 4+ fighter, which managed to show itself (from the Russian side) during the hostilities in Syria. In a broad sense, the aircraft is a modernized version of the Soviet Su-27. In a narrower one - before us is the "Russified" version of the export Su-30MKI, which made its first flight in 1997.

The difference between the Su-30MKI (and, accordingly, the Su-30SM) from the earlier versions of the Su-27 was a more modern airborne radar N011M with a passive phased antenna array (PFAR), as well as an expanded composition of air-to-air and air-to-air weapons. surface".

Note that over the entire period of the Indian Air Force - the main operator of the Su-30 - received about 250 of these machines. The Russian military today has over 100 new-built Su-30SM fighters.

After the adoption of the first batch and additional aircraft into service, a conditional balance can be expected to be achieved between the fighter fleets of the Armenian and Azerbaijani air forces. It is known that the Air Force of Azerbaijan has in its composition a certain number (less than 20) of Soviet MiG-29 fighters. At least some of them have been modernized. Also, the republic may have several combat-ready interceptors MiG-25. However, they are already morally outdated.

Recall that earlier Naked Science presented an analysis of the quantitative and qualitative composition of the Air Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
