The reason for the emergency with the Progress M-27M cargo spacecraft could have been an explosion during the separation of the third stage of the rocket. This was stated to reporters by a source in the space industry close to the commission of inquiry.
According to "Interfax", the reason for such conclusions were dozens of "incomprehensible fragments" discovered in orbit after the incident by means of space control. This could be due to the explosive effect. Now the fragments are being identified by specialists.
Earlier in Roskosmos it was reported that the discovered fragments are "structural elements that normally depart from the third stage at the moment of separation from the ship - pyropushers, pusher bodies, springs."
Also in favor of this preliminary version of the explosion, according to the interlocutor of the agency, the circumstances of the "free flight" of the ship speak. It was above the calculated orbit and rotated strongly around its axis.
As a reminder, the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with a cargo spacecraft was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome to the ISS on Tuesday. Soon after the launch, problems began with telemetry and the response of the device to commands from Earth. On Wednesday, the ship began an uncontrolled de-orbit. It is still difficult to establish the place where the debris unburnt in the atmosphere will fall.
