This message was preceded by a lengthy analysis of data related to the creation of colonies on Mars. And the first of these projects may be just the Mars One mission.

Using graphs and mathematical formulas, the scientists analyzed important aspects such as food and oxygen. It also took into account the level of technology that is taking place now or will appear in the near future. According to scientists, the death of the first colonist will be caused by asphyxiation, and it will occur approximately on the 68th day after landing on Mars.

Plants used to provide food will produce excess oxygen. At the same time, the technologies for balancing the atmosphere are currently not well developed. Modern devices for eliminating excess oxygen do not see the difference between oxygen and nitrogen, therefore, they will remove both nitrogen and oxygen outside the colony, which can already lead to a lack of air.

Mars One is a private space project run by Dutch entrepreneur Bas Lansdorp. The project started in 2010, the first space flight should take place by 2018. The landing of the first people on Mars (four people) is planned for 2025. Its creators want to pay off the project by broadcasting the life of the colonists, but many experts do not take Mars One seriously.

In addition to the oxygen problem, scientists are concerned about a number of other aspects. They note that over time, the Martian colonists will increasingly depend on the supply of spare parts. Moreover, their delivery will cost a lot of money.
