A model of a new generation multipurpose nuclear submarine was shown at the exhibition at the National Center for Defense Management of Russia. The boat could join the fleet in the 2030s.
A model of a promising submarine of Project 545 with the code "Laika-Navy" was demonstrated as part of the exposition deployed on December 24, 2019 on the territory of the center before the meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Defense, which was attended by the President.
Externally, the submarine is similar to its predecessors - the Project 885 Yasen multipurpose nuclear submarine and the Project 971 Schuka-B submarine. The promising boat will be relatively small - in any case, substantially smaller than the Ash.
As the description says, the fifth generation nuclear submarine is designed to destroy strategically important enemy targets, surface warships and other submarines, as well as stationary surface complexes. The displacement of the boat of project 545 is 11,340 tons, the speed is 35 knots (64 kilometers per hour), the autonomy is 90 days. The maximum immersion depth is 600 meters.
The weapons are 3M-14 Caliber missiles, ZM-22 Zircon, 3M-55 Onyx, anti-aircraft guided missiles for the Igla portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS), 81RU Answer and Predator missiles, as well as torpedoes "Physicist-1" and USET-80, anti-torpedo "Lasta", mini-missile PMR-2 and mine-torpedo MTPK-1.
We will remind, earlier it became known about the completion of research work under the code "Husky" and the beginning of development work under the code "Laika".
According to the data presented, the new submarine will be even less noisy than the fourth generation nuclear submarines. They want to use composite materials in the structure of the nuclear submarine hull. Multilayer structures are designed to reduce the reflection of signals from enemy sonars, as well as to reduce the total weight of the ship.
Recall that the first serial submarine of project 08851 "Yasen-M" was recently launched, which became a further development of the submarine "Yasen". Experts attribute it to the fourth generation and consider it potentially one of the most powerful multipurpose submarines.
The lead ship of Project 885 Yasen, K-560 Severodvinsk, was launched on June 15, 2010. The boat was put into operation in 2014. The commissioning of the next boat - K-561 "Kazan" - is scheduled for 2020, at the same time the third submarine should be commissioned. The total number of Project 885 submarines should be nine units.
