science fiction

Director: Gabe Ibanez

Starring: Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Birgitta Yort Sørensen, Dylan McDermott, Robert Forster, Andy Nyman, David Ryall

Premiere (world): September 20, 2014

Premiere (RF): October 16, 2014

The script is not original. The film takes the viewer to the near future, where robots perform different kinds of work for humans. They are ideal workers and, one might say, slaves - none of the robots need to be paid, they do not need food or anything else. Everything was fine until, under strange circumstances, one police officer (Dylan McDermott) shot the robot. Jacques Vaucan (Antonio Banderas) is an insurance agent for one of the companies that make robots. He was instructed to sort out the case in order to resolve the issue with insurance. It turns out that the robot was trying to heal itself, and this was unacceptable. The robot understood that it was forbidden, which means that he had his own thinking. There was a threat of the spread of the epidemic among other robots, which became too "alive" … Although initially Jacques cannot be called a typical real hero, over time he has to acquire new skills to fight robots.

The theme, of course, is beaten, there are enough cult films of this type, but it is definitely worth watching the new variation.

Director: Christopher Nolan

Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Elies Gabel, Wes Bentley, Michael Caine

Premiere (world): November 4, 2014

Premiere (RF): November 6, 2014

The film, the development of which began back in 2006. Then, instead of Nolan, the director's chair was taken by Steven Spielberg. However, he refused, and Christopher Nolan, who is called the "bright future" of this genre, made some adjustments. So, for example, Matthew McConaughey will play the lead role in the film, and not Will Smith, as planned. There are many top Hollywood stars in the film - everyone is not averse to working with the director of the cult Inception. It is also noteworthy that, for unknown reasons, the budget of the film is kept secret - not typical for a blockbuster.

The plot is intriguing. A serious problem of lack of food begins in the world, climatic conditions are changing. The government decides to follow the slogan "think not about man, but about humanity" and wants to leave the planet, to find a new haven for people. For this purpose, interstellar flights begin. This is where the very name of the film comes from: literally the word "interstellar" is translated as "interstellar".

The film must be watched for another important reason: the script is based on the works of NASA Academic Council member and distinguished physicist Kip Thorne. Impressive, isn't it?

She must become a Provisional Agent and prevent a terrorist attack that took the lives of thousands of victims. After undergoing plastic surgery, the time traveler embarks on her mission. Although the film was released worldwide in January this year, the Russian viewer will be able to appreciate the story only in December. There, the prepared viewer will be pleasantly surprised to see the hero of the "Before Dawn" trilogy, Ethan Hawke, who this time left the image of the writer and beloved Frenchwoman Cecilia and will travel in time.

Director: James Ward Birkit

Starring: Emily Baldoni, Maury Sterling, Nicholas Brandon, Elizabeth Grasen, Alex Manugyan

Premiere (world): September 19, 2013

Premiere (RF): December 4, 2014

The picture looks more like a fantastic horror movie in the style of auteur cinema. Even a touch of art house was used. The plot is again not the most original, but the way of presentation is slightly different. Eight friends, each with their own history, got together at a dinner party and witnessed an astronomical anomaly. After that, mysterious events begin.

Here we will not see the massacre, Bloody Mary, disfigured corpses. But mystics - more than enough. This low-budget picture can be viewed for fun, but you shouldn't expect much. This is evidenced by the fact that in Russia it will be shown as much as 15 months after its release.
