FNSS - a joint venture between the Turkish holding Nurol and British BAE Systems - showed the first production model of the new Kaplan MT tank. It is positioned as a medium tank, created in the class of combat weight of 35 tons.
The machine is being developed under the MMWT program together with Indonesian specialists from the PT Pindad association. The presented sample was built for the Indonesian Armed Forces. In the future, the country plans to order a large batch of such machines.
The combat vehicle has a 105mm CMI Defense CT-CV 105HP rifled gun and a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun. The layout of the tank is classic. The crew consists of three people. The prototypes were powered by Caterpillar C13 diesel engines with a capacity of 711 horsepower.
