The launch will take place from the SLC-4E launch pad located at the Vandenberg base. The rocket will launch 60 Starlink spacecraft version 1.0 into orbit.

The previous launch of Starlink satellites was performed by SpaceX on May 26. In total, more than 1,500 satellites of this system are currently in orbit.

Starlink is a SpaceX program. Development of the project began in 2015, the first TINTIN test prototypes were launched in February 2018. The total investment for the project is estimated at ten billion dollars.

The beta testing of satellite Internet began last fall. SpaceX later began large-scale operation of Starlink in Europe.

As in previous missions, a Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket is used for launch, which became the final version of the Falcon 9 carrier.

Falcon 9 Block 5 made its maiden flight in May 2018. During the upcoming launch, SpaceX will once again try to land the first stage of the rocket on an offshore platform.

UPD: The launch was postponed. The exact time will be announced later.
