Specialists from H2Fly and Deutsche Aircraft are joining forces to create a 40-passenger hydrogen jet. The technology demonstrator may make its first flight around 2025.

H2Fly and Deutsche Aircraft will work together on a hydrogen fuel cell airliner. The technology demonstrator will be based on the Dornier 328, a short-haul passenger turboprop aircraft. It made its first flight on December 6, 1991.

The demonstrator's launch flight was scheduled for 2025. The commercial airliner is planned to be built by 2030. It will have a range of up to 1,850 kilometers at a cruising speed of 520 kilometers per hour.

The developers have extensive experience in this area. Previously, H2Fly developed the HY4 hydrogen winged vehicle based on the electric Pipistrel Taurus Electro G4. She made her first flight in 2016. The plane can fly at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. Practical range - up to 1,500 kilometers.
